The Buckman Fund invests in the next generation of creatives to bring new opportunities for learning and innovation. These investments include the Buckman Center, a cutting-edge collaboration space for creatives, designers, and technologists.
The Karl and Nelda Buckman Fund sponsors programs with educational institutions, cultural organizations, and non-profits with a focus on collaboration among art, technology, design, and future thinking. Founded in 2021 by Texas-based philanthropists Karl and Nelda Buckman, the fund also creates accessible opportunities for participation in art and creativity in community-based experiences.
The Buckman Center
In April 2022, the Buckmans announced the largest gift to date to the School of Design & Creative Technologies in the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. This gift establishes the Buckman Center, a collaboration space for students, educators, artists, and technologists to explore cutting-edge art, design, and technology.
Groundbreaking is expected to begin in late 2022 with an opening slated for 2023.
